(Sambucus simpsonii) Florida elder. This water loving shrub is commonly seed in the wild Florida landscape. Clusters of white flowers form in the spring, followed by blueish-black berries. The flower heads have a natural yeast and can be used to make elder-flower champagne. The berries are excellent in pies, jams, and wine. Does well in soggy soil and near ditches and lakes. Once established it needs no care. Plants are 4-6" tall.
All plants are shipped bare root and ready for planting. Please plant in a high quality soil as soon as possibly upon arrival and water immedietly. Do not allow plants to sit in a hot mail box or post office for any length of time.
